OUR TOWN

Take a leisurely stroll up and down this very special, very centralized section of Long Beach Island and you’ll discover why. You’ll find everything you could need or want, during your day-trip to the beach, a week-long vacation, or just a typical day for a full-time resident.

As the Island’s “Main Street”, you’d expect Surf City to be home to many “one-of-a-kinds” — services and merchants you’ll find only one of on LBI. The Island’s only true Butcher…and only Barber…Hardware Store or 5 & 10. And the Island’s only Public Library. Just to name a few.

But then, there’s a plentiful choice. In 28 blocks you’ll find Over 25 food and beverage establishments. 9 art galleries. 6 ice cream shops. Over a dozen shops and boutiques. All within one short block of the beach.

And people do LOVE that they can walk to everything in Surf City. The Boulevard remains a two-lane road throughout the town — with marked crosswalks on every block. Plus, the wide shoulders on Central and Barnegat Avenues make them perfect to bike, jog, or walk your dog safely.

And then, of course, there are the beaches. And recreation areas. Beaches are meticulously maintained and easily accessed at every block. With special services available like beach wheelchairs. There’s a guarded bay beach in the summer. A ball field. Tennis courts. Boat launch. Shade and benches at Veteran’s Park.

The beach. The parks. The shops. The food. The art galleries. The activities. You’ll find more of what makes ANY day a perfect day on LBI in Surf City: Main Street LBI.
